A restored 16th-century palace in Mouassine, Marrakech, home to an artist and filled with original paintings, with five en-suite bedrooms, a heated pool and a hammam.

Riad Palette is a sixteenth-century palace, once home to Marrakech nobility, hidden on a quiet derb in Mouassine, the Medina's most coveted quarter. Hand-picked by The Marrakech Curator, it is the private home of an artist: every salon and suite is hung with original paintings and layered with collected vintage pieces, arranged around a serene courtyard where a heated pool rests beneath the palms. A vast sun-drenched roof terrace crowns the house, with views across the rooftops to the Koutoubia and the Atlas.
Mouassine is the connoisseur's corner of the Medina: minutes from the souks, the Mouassine fountain and the city's finest galleries and concept stores, yet wrapped in residential calm. Behind the riad's studded door, the courtyard opens around its pool and palms, with salons on every side and the light shifting from morning to candlelit evening. It is two minutes from the souks and a five-minute walk to Gueliz and the new town.
Five en-suite bedrooms are arranged over the courtyard and upper galleries, each individually composed with antique furniture, hand-finished textiles and original art, several with dramatic black tadelakt bathrooms. Elegant salons, a fireplace lounge and covered and open-air dining areas give a large group room to gather or retreat, all in complete privacy.
The house cook prepares breakfast each morning, fresh bread, mint tea and seasonal fruit, and dinners on request in the courtyard or on the roof. A traditional hammam and the heated pool complete the house, with massages and spa treatments available on request.
