Who are you ?
I'm Dounya. I've called Marrakech home for the past 10 years. Before starting The Marrakech Curator, I spent 5 years with Christie's in Morocco. an experience that shaped how I think about quality, discretion, and attention to detail.I've spent 9 years on the ground here, building relationships with villa owners, learning the city's rhythms, and figuring out what actually makes a trip unforgettable. I now look after a hand-picked portfolio of 100s of villas and riads, and I speak French, English, and Arabic fluently.
How are you different from a standard agency or Airbnb?
I know every property in my portfolio personally. Not from photos. I've been inside them, met the owners, and I know which villa suits a family of six versus a group of friends looking to celebrate in style.Airbnb gives you options. I give you the right one.And I'm actually reachable. When you're in Marrakech and something comes up, you text or call me directly. No ticket system, no customer service queue. Just a real person who knows what she's talking about.
How do you select your villas?
Honestly, gut feeling comes first. If a property doesn't genuinely impress me, it doesn't make the cut. regardless of size or price point. Every one of my villas and riads has been personally visited and chosen for a reason.
What does your concierge service cover?
The short answer: everything you'd rather not have to think about.It starts before you even land. I arrange your private transfer from the airport so the journey to your villa is smooth from the moment you touch down. I'm there to welcome you personally when you arrive, make sure everything is exactly as it should be, and hand you the keys properly. From there, I can arrange a private chef, and a range of curated experiences. think hot air balloon rides over the Palmeraie, day trips to the Ourika Valley, or a private dinner under the stars in the desert.
Who do you work with?
I have clients from all over the world. Families who need space and want a stress-free trip. Friend groups marking a big birthday. Couples who want something romantic and private. Companies planning an incentive trip or leadership retreat somewhere special.

How far in advance should I book?
For a straightforward stay, a few weeks' notice is usually fine outside of peak season. Between October and April. and especially around New Year's, Easter, and UK bank holidays. I'd recommend getting in touch at least 4 to 6 months ahead. The best properties fill up fast.If you're planning an event or bringing a group, give us 10 to 12 months to do it properly.
Will someone be there to meet me and help on the ground?
Yes. that's me. I come to the villa personally when you arrive, walk you through everything, and stay available throughout your stay. You'll have my direct number. If something comes up, a question, a last-minute request, or anything at all, you reach out to me and I sort it.
How does payment work?
I accept international bank transfers and card payments. The standard setup is a deposit to secure the booking and the remainder due before arrival. I go through all the specifics with you before anything is confirmed, so you always know exactly what you're agreeing to.
Is there a minimum stay?
Most villas have a 3-night minimum, though it does vary depending on the property and time of year. Some places ask for a full week during peak season or over high-demand dates. I'll always be upfront about this from the start.
